Joan C. Altenpohl, MAI, CCIM is the company's majority stockholder and serves as both CEO and Senior Appraiser. Joan has one of the most comprehensive education and experience foundations of any real estate professional. Besides appraising commercial real estate since 1990 and selling real estate since 1987, Joan has personally worked in title insurance, real estate law, and real estate financing.  Joan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and is broker-owner of Real Estate Group, Inc. and Property Management, Inc. Joan has also been awarded the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and has earned the prestigious CCIM designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute. The MAI and CCIM designations are universally recognized as the premier designations in the appraisal and commercial real estate sales industries. Only about 6,000 commercial real estate professionals world wide hold the CCIM designation and about 12,000 appraisers hold membership in the Appraisal Institute. Joan Altenpohl is the only person in the Bay County area to have both designations.
